The Greater Omaha Oncology Social Workers Association (GOOSWA) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
When you RSVP for a GOOSWA calendar event, the website asks for your name and email address. We collect this information so GOOSWA event administrators can manage attendance and communicate important event updates, including cancellation notices.
The website also maintains administrative login information for authorized GOOSWA administrators. Administrator passwords are stored in password-hashed form rather than as plain-text passwords.
How We Use Information
- To process and manage event RSVPs.
- To contact RSVP participants about the event they registered for, including cancellation notices.
- To administer and secure the website and calendar.
- To respond to questions or requests sent to GOOSWA.
GOOSWA does not use RSVP information for unrelated purposes or sell RSVP information.
How Long Information Is Kept
RSVP information is associated with the event for which it was submitted. When an event is manually cancelled, its RSVP records are removed as part of the cancellation process. When an event has ended, the website is configured to remove the event and its RSVP records 24 hours after the event ends. GOOSWA may retain information separately when reasonably necessary for legal, security, or administrative purposes.
Sharing of Information
RSVP names and email addresses are available to authorized GOOSWA event administrators for event-management purposes. The website is hosted through IONOS, which may process technical information necessary to provide hosting and website services. GOOSWA may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, organization, or users.
Cookies and Technical Information
The administrative portion of the website uses a session cookie to maintain an authorized administrator's login. Administrator sessions are configured to expire after one hour of inactivity. The public RSVP/calendar functions may also involve ordinary technical information processed by the hosting environment, such as information necessary to deliver and secure web requests.
Your Privacy Choices
You may contact GOOSWA to ask what RSVP information we have associated with you or to request correction or deletion of information, subject to applicable law and legitimate administrative or security needs.
